34. Picarones Back

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup cooked and mashed pumpkin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsps. oil

Sift the dry ingredients and add the cold pumpkin and oil. Beat for a few minutes until the dough is bond softly together. Making circles quickly with the dough and put immediately to fry in a very hot oil.


  • 1 lb chancaca (unrefined brown sugar)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 sticks cloves
  • Orange peel
  • Sticks cinnamon

Boil all ingredients together for 20 minutes. Ready the circles put in the chancaca and boiled it for 10 minutes.


  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 cups milk cream
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Vanilla

Put all the ingredients except the butter in a pan an boil it stirring constantly. Until you can see the bottom of the pan. Take out off the fire and add the butter stiffing.
